Understanding Credit Packs: Our Pay-As-You-Go Model

Why we chose credit packs over subscriptions, how pricing works, and what you get for your money.

When we designed GeopoliticsSim’s pricing, we had a simple goal: let people pay for what they use, without committing to a monthly subscription they might not need every month.

Why Not a Subscription?

Geopolitical simulation is not a daily-use tool for most people. You might run 10 scenarios in a week when a crisis breaks out, then not touch it for a month. A subscription model would either overcharge casual users or undervalue power users.

Credit packs solve this: buy when you want, use at your own pace, no expiration pressure.

The Credit Packs

PackPriceCreditsPer CreditBest For
Starter$55$1.00Trying it out beyond free tier
Explorer$1620$0.80Regular hobbyist use
Analyst$3550$0.70Professionals and researchers
Strategist$60100$0.60Heavy users and teams

What Costs Credits?

Each simulation step (one quarterly projection) costs credits. The exact cost depends on:

  • Simulation depth: Standard (48 countries) costs less than Premium (195 countries)
  • Complexity: More assumptions in a single step use slightly more credits

A typical 4-quarter scenario at Standard depth costs roughly 4-8 credits.

The Free Tier

Anonymous users get 3 free simulation steps — no signup, no credit card. This is enough to try a simple scenario and see how the platform works. After that, you can create a free account to save your history, or purchase credits to continue.

All Sales Final

Because credits are consumed immediately by AI computation (each step calls Claude AI), all credit purchases are final. We cannot “un-run” a simulation. We believe the free tier gives you enough to know whether the product is worth paying for before you buy.
